‘A little creativity a day keeps the anxiety at bay’
I don’t mean bust out the popsicle sticks and glue (which is what my 4yr old did on our wood floors this morning). I mean get creative with your time- maybe it’s downtime between remote work and online meetings, or time spent home with family. Explore all of those things that you’ve been adding to your inner to-do list. Go for a stroll (6’ apart) in the sun to grab some energizing vitamin D, get online and hone your current skill set, or enjoy learning a brand new skill. Keep your brain focused on the new and positive.
One of my favorite sites for online learning is skillshare.com. Instructor Helen Bradley is a personal fave. So many people and companies are offering online groups- turn off the news for a bit, and join in. Enjoy the cooking classes, exercise groups, and online learning with your kids. My daughter just thoroughly enjoyed her first preschool online class on Zoom. The kids were bursting at the seams with love for one another- they literally couldn’t stop waving! Call that friend you’ve been meaning to catch up with. An old friend of mine told me her parents went out to a store in Seattle yesterday, and the clerk asked if their kids knew they were out- my, how times have changed!
Give your neighbors a call to check-in, you’ll both enjoy the connection, and if they need assistance, you’ll be able to help. Helping others makes us all feel good, so stay connected. Remember those days when you wished you could stay home? Now you are, so enjoy it while you can- but don’t forget to wash your hands!
Stay well & please reach out if you need anything!
